Mala Beach (Cap D Ail)
written by vicuna on August 13th, 2008 , 3 comments (1 vote)

So, here’s another wonderful secret beach place to avoid the overcrowded tourist beaches… It’s the beach of “La Mala”, a little paradise near of Monaco, in Cap d’ail to be more precise.

The beach is not so easy to find the first time, and you must leave your car at a certain place and walk about 10 mn to get there, but it’s really worth of! So, coming from Nice, follow the coastal road to Monaco, until the little town of Cap d’Ail. After entering the town, you have a little roundabout, go straight and take the 2nd little road to the right. A little sign is showing you the direction of “La Mala”. Drive down a bit and then park your car when arriving to the old luxus hotel of Cap d’Ail. Walk the way down about 10 mn (or follow the other people with bathing suit…) and you’ll soon discover the wonderful little bay of Mala beach.

There are 2 private beaches with restaurant and all the comfort for sunbathing, but don’t worry, if it’s too expensive, you also have the public beach. Enjoy the turquoise water, the fascinating landscape and the sun of course. If you have a submarine camera, you’ll be astonished how beautiful the underwater landscape is (OK, it’s not the pacific ocean, so the fishes aren’t so colorful and there’s no corallian recife…)

And if you like walking along the seaside, take the little coastal walk, you can go until Monaco like this and admire the beauty of the flora and the impressing Villas of the 19th & 20th centuries built along the coast.
