  I bought a Chaika for "spares or repair" from someone in Siberia a couple of weeks ago. I didn't pay a lot of money for it but I got great entertainment tracking the parcel as it made it's way across the Russian Federation and into Europe which was in the grip of a very cold winter at the time.

  Once or twice a year I travel to Italy for a meeting to synchronise with colleagues in our parent company. It’s great to catch up with distant friends but I’d rather be at home with my family.

  A couple of weeks ago I went for my evening walk on Bray seafront. The whole sky was dark blue and cloudy but the last ray of sun illuminated a ship on the horizon. Now that the light is fading I really should bring my tripod with me.

  I bumped into my nephew, Levi, on my way up Bray main street. He was on his way home from basketball practice with Bray Lakers and stopped for a quick chat. He shook my hand crushing my fingers as is customary and posed for me with a wonderful smile.

  Most evenings I go for a brisk with my dog and my camera. The main reason is to get some exercise but while I’m out I might as well see if I can capture something with my camera.

  Times really are changing in Bray. This was an optician for as long as I can remember, now it’s being turned into a sweet shop. The strange thing is, there’s another health-food store being turned into a sweet shop on the same block.

  I saw this woman in red against a bright white background and shot from the hip. The bright low September sun really light up this scene. My Kiev’s sticky shutter struck again and washed out the bottom of the frame but I do like the angles and lines.
