Getting on my first longer vacation break after quite a while my girlfriend and me set sails for the Yucatan paninsula to escape Viennese winter.

Tulum

Caribean sea, palm trees, white sand beaches,…what more can you say!

Palenque

Next stop was the jungle city and magic and mushroom el dorado of Palenque. Besides the great ruins, getting screamed to sleep and woken up by Howler monkies was quite something special.

San Cristobal de las Casas

Our favourite stop. Another 6 hours from Palenque down in the Chiapas part of Mexico.

Merida

Last stop on our journey, the carnival capital of Yucatan at the hight of it’s celebrations.
We also took a day trip to the overcrowded but still impressive ruins of Chitzen Itza
