LomoKino Premiere Madrid 2012
2012-06-21 · Madrid, SpainTo celebrate the release of the LomoKino camera, Lomography Spain is organizing a special premiere event to showcase the camera and its amazing artistic capabilities. We gave LomoKino cameras and 35 mm film to six independent short movie makers, nominated and/or awarded with the Goya Prizes (the official Spanish Academy Award), two recognized students from Spanish prestigious film schools and Amateurs LomoKino movie makers from the Lomography Community via online competition, and gave them three months to complete the film shooting. They have a free topic, and the films will be featured in a large and well-known commercial theatre in Madrid, Cine Palafox, with one of the biggest screens in the city! Evasión, a digital production company, is mastering the thirteen films with the appropriate technology for a high-quality screening, a record of the voice over of a well-known presenter and actress, editing of the final movie with credits and special effects and sound arrangements. Sadilsa, a Spanish rental company for theatres and film sets is providing special lights for the photocall, cocktail area and for the stage. Mónica Chaparro, a Spanish comic actress has conducted voice imitations of several characters and is presenting the different movie makers. Grupo de Teatro Malasaña, an amateur theatre company is acting as support to Chaparro. Jose Ramón Bas, a plastic artist, photographer and lomoamigo, is creating the LomoKino Premiere First Prize which consists of an original sculpture of the camera. Finally, Whisky The Macallan is sponsoring drinks for the cocktail, which will take place after the screening. We are looking forward to welcoming approximately 900 to 1,000 people! Our community has sent more than 30 films to the online competition, showing how talented and passionate our Lomographers are. All of this is being done to introduce a new artistic and avant-garde way of filming to our community. This would not be possible without the collaboration of professional short move makers and well as the engagement of our Lomographers. We are looking forward to a Lomography hangout!
