    My Flying 120N Holga

Working in the photography department at the South Australian School of Art for the last six years, I have seen photos shot from just about every angle conceivable. Developing my own work to stand out from the norm led me to combining a few obsessions; Holgas, electronics, and radio-controlled multirotor aircraft.

Up in the Air: I believe I can fly!

Flying was always a dream for me since my childhood. I love taking planes, especially small ones where you can see everything the pilot is doing. Well, I waited a long time (until my 39th birthday) but now, the time has come to fulfill my dream: become a pilot of ultralight planes!

    Paragliding in The Bavarian Forest

One of the oldest human dreams is to fly like the birds. In the Greek mythology, Icarus and his father Daedalus tried to escape from their exile on the island of Crete by building themselves wings made out of feathers and wax.... but Icarus was so fascinated to feel like a bird that he came to close to the sun, the wax melted and he felt down in the sea.... Today, some crazy human beings are still trying to fly: the paragliders

The Gap Years: My Year Away: Part 1

Although not strictly speaking of a "Gap Year", in 2002, my friend and I decided to buy a one-way ticket to Australia via Thailand and Singapore. We had no concrete plans but thought we would see what happened along the way. Ten years later, I look back at that time as one of the best in my life!

Up in the Air: My Memories from Flying from Sydney to Los Angeles

The Sydney to Los Angeles flight is one of the longest flights in the world, and as I am a native of Sydney but I live in Canada, I have done this flight more times that I would have liked to. Luckily, I have captured some images with some simple plastic cameras that you can use them during take-off and landing!

    Boston Portsmouth Air Show

Last summer, I went to the Boston Portsmouth Air Show at the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease, which was the first annual show of its kind. Combined with a clear, sunny weather, it made for a great first experience using slide film. There were oodles of planes of all shapes and sizes to explore and various back-to-back flying exhibitions to check out. Best of all, being an aviation enthusiast or expert was not required to appreciate all of these unique sights!

PIcture This: The Freedom of Flying

I've always loved flying, because in my opinion it's also a symbol of freedom. It's something that we've always tried to do from Leonardo da Vinci's time, and it's something that we will never be able to do on our own, but it still embodies the complete freedom of movement.
