Fangcarpenter and I signed up for a 3pm costume pictorial at the Seoul Tourism Organization's satellite office at Myeongdong when our hosts brought us there after having a hearty bulgogi lunch at a restaurant nearby. We both had fun wearing those layers of silk clothings that made us feel like we were being transported to the time when monarchs reigned over the Korean peninsula. It felt like we were in a Korean telenovela about kings and queens and we're friends of Dong Yi (a servant to the royal house who later became a concubine of the king in a historical telenovela of the same title which is currently a smash hit in the Philippines). The tarpaulin backdrop of the palace and guards was a fitting background for our poses.
