Some of its splendor is lost due to urbanization not to mention the series of bombings experienced during the Second World War but it still retains its old worldly charm. Some of the moats and gates of old still stand while one of the many torture chambers has been converted to a coffee shop. How's that for ingenuity? For a tourist, a visit to Manila would be incomplete without at least a visit to the walled city. It is located near the Pasig River and most jeeps going to Quiapo will pass by there.
