The Capuchin Catacombs in Palermo, Sicily

If you go to Sicily you can't miss the capuchin catacombs of Palermo, something that confirms the ghoulish side of this city. A cemetery that contains 8000 mummies, lined upon walls, lying or standing, skeletons, and perfectly preserved bodies. It was active until 1920, when the last body was interred. And hooray! This is actually my first Lomo location in Sicily

    Chernobyl/Prypiat: A Silent City

September 2011, Marije (s0y) and I finally took the trip we wanted to do for so long, visit Ukraine, Kiev and in particular, the 30km exclusion zone around Chernobyl, with the ghost town of Prypiat. When I saw the bumper carts, I almost cried. Afterwards, we were exhausted; there was so much to take in. And bringing too many cameras is never a good idea. ;)

    Spooooky Salem, MA

Salem, Massachusetts is a sleepy little seaside town with a very spooky past. It's one of the oldest towns in the US and has seen it's share of strange historical events, including the famous Salem Witch Trials of the 1600's.

The Hotel Haunting: Eerie yet stirring photographs by Brittany Markert

It comes as not much of a surprise when a statuesque fashion model decides to venture into photography. Getting exposed to the glamour and all those cameras, strobes and flashes can easily pique one’s interest. But when she chooses to shoot more than dolled up, couture-clad goddesses, it’s a different story altogether, and in this case, a rather unnerving one.

Sunken Cemetery and Guiob Church Ruins

Eerie yet beautiful. No trip to Camiguin would ever be complete without visiting the Sunken Cemetery, perhaps the most popular tourist destination in the island-province.

    The Tunnel - Austria

Once a good friend of mine told me about an old tunnel somewhere in the mountains near the place I live. It is some kind of secret which everybody knows but nobody could tell where exactly you can find this tunnel. But Ronald found out where the entrance is and where the tunnel leads you to – he’s an adventurer with heart and sole.
