lonely ruins...
The Gate of the College of St.Paul..this archway is all that remains of the famed college that is said to have housed the first printing press in India...around 1542...
..this is very close to where I stay...and little did I realize that this lonely frontispiece had this history for itself...
After an outbreak of plague, the College was abandoned and soon the structure deteriorated..with only this gateway now left standing ....a sad witness to what had been a renowned centre of learning....
