Frankenkodak_test_roll_July2022

Okay, here's another half-baked experiment... Rummaging in flea markets and other places of interesting rubbish, I had acquired a pair of old, semi-usable Kodak folders: A ”No. 2 Folding Autographic Brownie” with a dodgy shutter and a ”No. 2 Folding Cartridge Hawk-Eye Model B” that was missing the red rear window. Both were waiting for their turn on my repair list... when I realised I could take the working front half of the Hawk-Eye and fit it into the non-leaking back of the Brownie. (Both cameras are of the curious and short-lived cartridge loading variety, where the body splits into two halves for loading film.) After patching just one set of bellows, I now have a working Frankenkodak (A Hawkie? A Brown... Well, maybe not) that's either 90 or 100 years old, depending on which side you look. Judging by this test roll, I need to be more generous with aperture... But it works! It's alive!
