Woodland ramble

This is the homemade mask I printed on transparency film and taped into the back of my Pentax P50. All shots were taken with +2 exposure compensation, to allow for the light blocked by the mask.

Fabulous! Now, maybe an article on how you did the whole thing? Pretty please?

@draekko74 and @lorrainehealy There's not really much to add - you simply find a nice texture image you like (it can be one of your own or anything you find online), resize it in image-editing software (I use Adobe Fireworks) to 24mm x 36mm (for 35mm cameras) or 52mm x 52mm (for 6x6 medium-format cameras), print it off on transparency film like they used to use for overhead projectors (available from stationery or craft stores), cut it to size, leaving 1 cm or so on either side for taping, then tape it into the back of your camera (being VERY CAREFUL not to touch the very delicate shutter curtain). Then simply load your film as usual and go shoot, remembering to overexpose by 1.5 or 2 stops to compensate for lost light. It's really quite simple and lots of fun, as the possibilities are endless. Here's a picture of one I made for use in my Diana F+: www.lomography.com/photos/17000485 and here's the 'Bucksprock Sunburst' one I've had good results with: www.lomography.com/homes/buckshot/albums/1977576-here-comes… Thanks a lot for your interest, and be sure to let me know if you try this out!
