but this was not a place where icecream was produced. back in the first have of last century people did not have a fridge at home. instead they had a huge wooden box in which a huge ice-block was inside and on top people put what needed to be cooled. the ice-blocks were produced here in the eisfabrik and brought to people's homes. an ice-block lasted about two weeks. this place was bought by an investor but the building was occupied by homeless people for quite some time. in april or may police and security came and now all people are gone and there is a fence and 24/7 security. end of this year it is said they start to work on the building. a front made of glass is an idea they currently have and in the first hall there is this idea to install a gallery.
