Tie Dyed

I tried my hand at a new technique when dying eggs. I went to a thrift store and bought some silk ties (they must be 100% silk in order for the trick to work), wrapped the, about the eggs, covered that with cut pieces from an old pillow case, then boiled the eggs with a 1/4 cup of vinegar. The pattern on the tie transferred to the egg! The best was the black one with the dots.
