Paper Dome, Puli Nantou Taiwan

As part of a commemoration for the Kobe earthquake, this "paper church" aims for the rebuilding of communities and exchange of experiences. Rubble from the earthquake went into this building. This community center is the site for performance events and community interaction. It is constructed with exposed steel structure to keep it securely structural.

Since its construction in 2005, this project by Shigeru Ban has grown to unite the local community and has stood as a significant friendship tie between Japan and Taiwan, with children's activities, music, performance, and celebrations.
