I believe nothing happens by chance. Things happen for a cause which sometimes is so hard to fathom. Recently I acquired a published journal of British photojournalist Dan Eldon (1970 - 1993) who, together with his three colleagues, were stoned to death by an angry mob in Mogadishu in 1993. I was very moved knowing the sad fate and the violence that snatched his life. It struck a chord in my memory having gone through mob violence myself when I was in Bangladesh many years ago. So I used his journal as inspiration for my art and lomographs. Doubled my shots with street vignettes to underscore the public sphere by which he as a photojournalist lived his life. To Mr. Dan Eldon, thank you for your passion and commitment to expose the truth. I'm so inspired by you. RIP.
