The Lomographic Society Proudly Presents The Lomo LC-A+ KRAB Underwater Case!

Back in the 1980’s, the Soviet Union’s camera industry was in full swing and a small, blocky underwater case was created for the popular Lomo Kompakt Automat camera. Crafted in solid metal, perfectly aligned with the LC-A’s knobs and curves, and designed with a distinctively Russian character, this item was never produced beyond the prototype stage and is exceptionally difficult to find.

    Colorsplash Chakra Party Photos!

On Thursday, June 19, 2008, the place to be in New York City was Reed Space in NYC's Lower East Side, where Lomography and "Staple Design":http://www.stapledesign.com/ threw a shindig of epic proportions to launch the flashy new "Colorsplash Chakra":http://www.lomography.com/colorsplashchakra/ camera. If you were there, you're probably in a few of these photos (sorry again for the point-blank flash assault), or better yet, you may have taken a few of them, because there were Colorsplash Chakra cams hanging from the ceiling, inviting you to fondle and paw them and hopefully bathe your friends in waves of color.

    JPG/Lomography Long Exposure Photo Challenge

"JPG Magazine":http://www.jpgmag.com is one of our very favorite publications. Each month, they present a slamming collection of images, stories, and photo journalism - all sourced from the hyper-creative members of their online community. We share a lot of synergy with them, as many JPG contributors are diehard Lomographers and many of their features focus on Lomographic and analog cameras. Working with them on a collaborative photo challenge was a natural first step in what will surely be a long and fruitful relationship. Here are the details:

Everything you ever wanted to do to film but were afraid to...

Film is the medium that makes all our Lomographic ambitions reality. Understandably, for some people it's highly disrespectful to do kinky experiments to such a precious item. So for our next Lab Rats newsletter we are going to investigate the things you would like to do to film, but were too scared to try yourself.

    The Diana+ 38 and 55mm Lenses

As promised, we’ve been spending our days, afternoons, nights, blood, sweat, and tears in the constant expansion and frenzied development of the most innovative and downright unexpected accessories and variants for the Diana+ plastic medium-format camera system. Our labors have resulted in two succulent and quite delicious lenses. The 38mm Super-Wide offers a sweeping 120° full-frame view. And the 55mm & Close-Up Lens offers TWO kinds of images: dramatic and quite-nice wide-angle shots AND extremely close macro images.

    The Chakras of Colorsplashing

For over five years, Lomographic photographers (aka “Lomographers”) have been aiming the lenses of their small Colorsplash cameras and firing a colored flash burst at any and every given opportunity. So much so, that you can call this act of “Colorsplashing” a true artistic mass-movement for film photography! But this begs an important question: where does the motivation and inspiration for all of this color-drenched hyperactivity stem from?

We love the sun, we love taking pictures, we love to travel, we love to spend time together, we love vacations - so the lomography headquarter went on a 3 day trip to the wonderful coast near triest! Why? This trip is one lomographic way to say thank you to all staff members for their excellent work and commitment. So once a year or every two years we pack our bags and go on vacation together. This journey provides a chance to finally talk to everyone, get to know new staff members and people you are not working with on a every day basis - this is the way we strenghten our team spirit!
