Montmartre: At the Top of Paris

Montmartre is one of the most visited places in Paris. But there is more to this place than the Basilica of the Sacré Coeur, near Abbesses one experiences a true Parisian atmosphere with nice cafés, restaurants, and traditional commerce.

Montmartre, the hill in the north of Paris (in the 18th arrondissement) is well known for the famous Basilica of the Sacré Coeur but there is more…

This area of Paris has a great vibe all around, especially in Abbesses, where there are always several street performers. The several cafés and restaurants are always completely filled with Parisians.

The Basilica of the Sacré Coeur attracts almost every tourist that visits Paris.

Whenever visiting at any time of the year, it is normal to have a huge number of foreigners seated on the stairs just below the Basilica. Everyone wants to appreciate the amazing view of Paris from there.

This is in fact, one of my favorite places in Paris to go for a walk alone or with friends. Actually, it has been a while since the last time I went for a visit, maybe it is time to go back with a camera or two.
