'Instant' Amigos Enjoying Instant Satisfaction

Today, we live in a world where almost everything comes and goes in an instant. Although film is in essence a more relaxed and unhurried photographic medium, it also has something to offer for those who want a quick analogue fix—like our very own ‘instant’ Amigos!

It’s understandable how some people are enamored with film, but are looking for something a little more speedy. With this in mind, Lomography came up with two nifty gears that should be in every instant photography fan’s analogue arsenal: the Lomo LC-A Instant Back+ and Diana Instant Back+!

Now, it’s time to take a look at the instant masterpieces by our ‘Instant’ LomoAmigos who use and enjoy the instant backs with their LC-A+ and Diana F+ cameras:

Photos by Matt Schwartz, who shoots with the Lomo LC-A+ with Instant Back+. Working with instant photos and instant photo transfers, he describes his creative process as:

“I take instants, pull apart the film and then rub the negative onto water color paper. It gives all of my images a softness. This technique gives my voice as a photographer a microphone. I’m not sure if I’m screaming in it or whispering. Maybe a little of both.”

Her love for instants has even led her to publish her own book on Polaroid photography! She shoots with the Lomo LC-A+ with Instant Back+, which she describes in five words as “Fast-Reliable-Amazing-Fun-Romantic!”

Photos by Zara Martin, a London-based TV presenter, actress, and model, who confesses that she bought her Diana F+ “in a jealous fit after seeing a friend’s amazing Lomography images.” Shooting with the Diana and Instant Back+, must have gained her a lot of stares from curious onlookers, aside from the handsome guy who had the hots for her camera!
