Whenever I go to Kuala Lumpur for leisure or business, and drive all the way to Petaling Jaya using the MRR2 highway, I see a lot of kites flying in the sky. Not just 10 or 20 kites; I think there are usually more than 200 kites. I never had a chance to stop by, until last month.

Kepong Metropolitan Park was opened in 2001. This is a 95-hectare park, which includes a 57-hectare lake. The park is fully-equipped with a cycling track, jogging track, children’s playground, toilet, car parks, and for sure, a large open space for kite flying.

During weekends, this park is full of people. Most of them come here for kite flying; you can see various styles and sizes of kite flying in the sky. Don’t worry if you don’t have a kite, there are a few kite sellers in the park. From small to big kites, fish to hero kites, just pick your favorite.
