Well, it’s a film that’s definitely worth trying. You will get hooked on it easily!
Well, I’d say out of the big pool of slides I have tried, including Kodak EB, Agfa CT100 (both versions), Kodak 320T, Fuji Sensia, Lomography X-Pro 200, I like this one, EBX, most. The reason is simple, the colour shift is amazing! Luckily, it became available in Hong Kong since some time ago!
Compared to Kodak Elitechrome 100 (EB), the colour shift in Elitechrome Extra colour (EBX) is ‘more’. For some photos it gives a yellow tone. Sometimes, the yellow tone merges beautifully with the blue sky. Well, here’s how it goes with Voigtlander VITO CLR.
In some photos, the colours are rather saturated. Of course, the colour shift is very good as well. The red colour is pretty sharp. Occasionally, it gives a green tone. However, don’t care too much about the tone, as it depends on a lot of factors! I mainly use it with my LC-A+.
I have also tried to do double exposure with this roll, the result wasn’t bad at all! Red is particularly sharp is this roll.
Moreover, this roll is pretty good with taking portraits, as it doesn’t give some extreme colour shifts that will scar your subject off when they see it.
