Here we go – newsflash number 2! Times flies, but fortunately we’re making some serious progress. Wanna know what? And curious about the secret location of the Lomography Gallery Store in Amsterdam? Read one to find out!
Two weeks ago we were still looking for the right construction work company, and right now the renovation is full pull running. A team of 5 bob the builders are sanding, cracking down walls, setting up new window sills, painting the walls and ceilings and plastering like crazy. With bouncing beats on the background and peeping tourists through the open front door, were are slowly getting ready for the Grand Opening of the Lomography Gallery Store Amsterdam!
All these updates on construction work etc are great to know. But there is probably just one unanswered question flying around your mind all the time – where is this great new place going to be located? Well you know what, it’s is getting very hard to keep that still a secret. At the new facebook page of the Lomography Gallery Store Amsterdam somebody even found out already. Apparently one of the pictures in the first blogpost was too obvious. And besides that, we wrote the address in the embassy logo as well :). So, it’s about time to reveal that sneaky peaky address right now…
give us some drums please…..rampadampadam…..ah, nice, thanks!
The address of the Lomography Gallery Store in Amsterdam = *Herengracht 298*
YEAH! The Lomography Gallery Store Amsterdam is going to be located right on the one and only Herengracht and in the in heart of the infamous Nine Streets. A beautiful canal house (build in 1890) on the corner with the Wolvenstraat. And guess what, we’ve got the entire building for ourselves! Means – maximum Lomography fun! Our team of architects already measured out everything and have got for each open space a very unique concept. On the ground and first floor we will hold the store of course. The upper floors will contain workshop, gallery and event areas + our own back office.
…and this aint it all yet. We also have a massive bathroom which already lost his previous duty. The plan is to turn this space over into our very own LomoLab. The place for all your develop and print desire. Exactly – no more issues with wrong-cutting your favorite Spinner, Sprocket Rocket or Horizon films and no print possibilities due to the fact they are not familiar with our special panorama + sprocket formats. Unfortunately we don’t have a clear schedule when we’ll open the LomoLab yet. But when we do, we’ll inform you all instantly of course! For the time being you still have to deal with the local labs.
Last but not least – believe it or not but we are still looking for a great PR/Online Marketing intern. Are you a student at the Hogeschool or University in arts, literature, communication or media? Looking for a real challenge at a well known international company with a great working atmosphere and want to develop yourself as a professional? Go and check our job position right away and apply! The position is based on a fulltime week for 3 months, including €300,- placement fee. Already graduated or just not interested but do you know anyone who is looking for such a great opportunity? Please spread the word and let him/her apply asap!
Back to work now… let’s see of these bob’s keep this amazing place in one piece :). Hopefully we’ll have some more news about the Grand Opening Party in the next blogpost. Curious about the store already? Why not just jump on your bike and pass by for a sneak preview! :)
