Can you think of any technique more analogue than chalk on blackboard? Who hasn’t ever written on a blackboard? Who hasn’t ever thrown a piece of chalk? But, have you ever made a real piece of art on the board? There’s one girl in New York City who always creates artwork on blackboards, check it out! I bet you’ll like it.

Yesterday I discovered this amazing typography artist and I think you are going to like her work as much as I do, so here you are: Dana Tanamachi

She is a graphic designer and custom chalk letterer, yes, custom chalk letterer. What is that? Check it out:

Isn’t it brilliant? As you can read on her site, “after hours, Dana moonlights as a custom chalk letterer, creating large-scale chalk installations in New York City. She also applies her chalk lettering to a wide variety of uses for publications, packaging, and apparel. She enjoys crafting, reading, walking, and especially listening to country music from the 1990s”, sounds analogue, eh?

Here you can see more videos of Dana working and you can also follow her on Twitter, I already do!
