In Hong Kong, we usually go to the Central Ferry Piers to take the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui. Besides that, you can actually go there specifically to Piers No. 9 and No. 10 and around the corner to have a spectacular view of Victoria Harbour.
Hong Kong people, or even visitors, are very familiar with the Star Ferry Pier at Tsim Sha Tsui. The view of Hong Kong Island is a signature attraction in Hong Kong. However, the Central Ferry Piers at the opposite side of Victoria Harbour is also a great place for shooting some beautiful pictures!
People are always in a rush at Central, they are either on their way to work or home, they rarely slow down to admire the scenery of the Central Piers next to the Hong Kong Station and International Financial Centre (IFC). Next time when you are at Central, in addition to go shopping at IFC, you can take a very short walk to the Central Ferry Piers. In particular, you can go to Piers No. 9 and No. 10 which are less crowded then the other piers. You will get a magnificent view there.
Both sides of Victoria Harbour are under your eyes at Pier No. 9 and Pier No. 10, which are just around the corner next to the Ferry Pier No. 8 (for Star Ferry). You can see the harbour view of Kowloon Peninsula, the harbour view of Central and Wan Chai, and also the new Central Government Complex.
The scenery of Kowloon, including the Star Ferry Pier, the Cultural Centre and even the new International Commerce Centre can be captured on the left of Pier No. 9, while on the right is Pier No. 10 and the construction site of the Tamar Development Project.
Similarly at Pier No. 10, you can see the Hong Kong Conventional and Exhibition Centre at Wan Chai.
At sunset, the blue sky has a golden sunlight offering a splendid view of Victorial Harbour, how can you not be amazed by it?
If you have time, you are strongly recommended to take the Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central. Piers No. 9 and 10 will be on your left-hand side of the ferry pier exit. This way, you can sail around the harbour and enjoy the views of both Kowloon Peninsula and Hong Kong island.
