While in Paris take a Walk Along the Quais de Seine: No Excuses

I truly believe that a walk along the quays of the river Seine is indispensable to any trip to Paris. Any visitor will visit many of the spots along the quays but walking from one to the other is an absolute necessity to getting a global vision of the stupendous beauty of the city. It also provides for wonderful photos. Oh, and it’s terribly romantic!

The quays of the river Seine – quais de Seine in French, not very hard – are an excellent spot for taking wonderful clichés of Paris. Please go take a stroll from the Eiffel Tower to the Notre Dame, it is an easy walk to do in a few hours, it’s very enjoyable and will leave you full of ‘Paris’ in you as nothing (ooh la la), I dare say nothing, is as quintessentially Parisian, as the Quais de Seine. Let’s start near the Eiffel Tower:

Nice, ’no? In this photo you can also see the bridge Alexandre III as well. Then you have the Assemblée Nationale on the rive gauche and the Place de la Concorde in front of it, on the rive droite of the river:

Continue along the river and you soon arrive at the landmark Musée d’Orsay, with its very photogenic statues:

In front of the Musée d’Orsay, on the other side, is the beautiful garden of the Tuileries. In front of it, the Louvre. Now is a good time to go Pyramid crazy!

Just after the Louvre, you will see the famous pedestrian bridge Pont des Arts

Followed shortly by the Pont Neuf (=new bridge) which is, ironically, the oldest standing bridge across the Seine.

You have also arrived at Île de la Cité, home of the Notre Dame cathedral! Wasn’t to hard, was it?

While you’re walking around, don’t forget to go sit down on the quay for a little rest.

These are ideal spots for watching the boats pass by while having a picnic or just drinks with friends!
