Fuji Pro 400H 120 Film

Looking for a 120 film that’s flexible for most conditions and very accurate? Look no further…

When I got my Diana F+ just a few short months ago, I didn’t know what film to buy. There weren’t very many 120mm films to choose from so I bought a 5 pack of this film because it seemed like a safe bet. I figured that since the Diana has a set shutter speed, 400 ISO film would be a safe bet till I got used to how the camera reacted. (Where I live it tends to be overcast a lot so 100 ISO isn’t necessarily the best choice.)

Anyhow, Diana and I have gone on a number of delightful dates and after a few months of conjugal bliss I can safely say we are very much in love! We both delight in walking on the beach holding hands and sunny picnics in the park, I usually pack a sandwich for me and some fresh film for her, but so far our dietary differences haven’t caused any conflicts!

I have since bought 4 more rolls of this film and am quite pleased with the results, I tend to shoot during the day in everything from full sunlight to deep shade and the film always delivers. I have not shot at night with it so I am afraid I cannot comment, although it is a safe bet that use with a flash would yield good results. I haven’t strayed much into the realm of “bulb” so that too I shall not comment on.

I find that the film is very accurate in color and coupled with the Diana’s lens images tend to be slightly soft with gentle hues and blending. I prefer a heavier contrast myself, which can easily be accomplished while developing, so please keep in mind that some of the pictures included have been processed with a higher contrast than “normal” processing. Processed normally the film is actually very accurate for color.

So if you’re looking for some grab and go 120 film that can do it all, grab the Fuji Pro 400H and go!

I recently took 15+ rolls of 120 films to Tibet, and the Fuji Pro 400H is definitely one of the most versatile and reliable :)
