Bellini’s is an authentic Italian ristorante in the middle of busy Cubao, Quezon City. It has become an institution in the Marikina Shoe Expo area (which is now known as Cubao eXpo) since it opened in 1999. It has been one of my favorite restaurants not only because of the perfectly romantic ambiance but mainly because they offer authentic and great Italian food which is sometimes served by Mr. Bellini himself!
As you can see in the photos, one would really feel that he is in Italy with the beautiful paintings and pop-out structures of the country’s famous tourist spots on its walls. Impress your date and bring him/her here. The lighting and decorations will certainly set the romantic mood for your date. It is also a perfect place to rent for special events with friends and family as they now have private areas that can accommodate guests.
Bellini’s is owned by Roberto Bellini, a former Italian paparazzo. (That explains why there were many photos displayed inside the restaurant!) During the EDSA Revolution, he was sent here in the Philippines for an assignment to cover the event. Fortunately, his work lead him to meet Maria Luisa who later on became his wife. They settled in Italy and had 3 children but after more than 10 years, they decided to go back to Manila. Later the family put up their own business, an Italian Ristorante, hence, Bellini’s.
Our meal started with a complimentary serving of bread sticks. We loved their Foccacia bread, Seafood Pesto and their original thin-crust pizza, the Quatro Formaggio. I encourage you to try their other specialties especially their desserts! The price is reasonable compared to other Italian restaurants.
Bellini’s is indeed a warm place to enjoy a sumptuous piece of Italy. We were lucky that when we got there there was a blind singer who serenaded us with his acoustic guitar. His voice was really amazing!
