Entering the Wonderful World of Film!

2011-08-16 2

Rediscovering the world of film after years of taking photographs using a digital SLR. Best decision I have made in a long time!

During the last year I became more frustrated of the limitations of my digital images. Pictures were pixelated, zooming in just showed pixels, images were just numbers, charging the camera took time when I could be shooting… I could go on. With so many settings and carefully looking behind the viewfinder, there remained little spontaneity to my shots.

What I needed was something I could capture a moment in a second and ditch the preciousness of composing. Armed with my new La Sardina all the way from Germany and slide film I went to my favorite place: the beach.

I haven’t had so much fun taking photographs in ages! I love the mysteriousness of unknowing what the photo would look like. Even the sounds of winding the advance-wheel excited me and suddenly I felt more connected to my camera than ever before. These exposures were physical, not a mesh of numbers!

After seeing some fantastic cross-processed photographs on Lomography, I decided to do process mine that way. The results are rich and full of extremes of color. I have rediscovered photography and couldn’t be happier!

Get ready to sail the high seas with our new La Sardina collection! These 35mm cameras are equipped with spectacular wide-angle lens, multiple exposure capabilities, and a rewind dial—everything you need for fun-filled and thrill-soaked escapades. Get your own La Sardina camera now!
