A Midsummer Night's Dream Playlist

2011-08-15 4

“But earthlier happy is the rose distill’d / Than that, which, withering on the virgin thorn, / Grows, lives, and dies, in single blessedness.” (Theseus, Scene I)

Music and images are not easy to combine, but still finds one another, like one of many possibilities: defining. Summer is mostly related with fun, serenity and ecstasy — almost utopian and especially fertile. One mostly thinks of the sea, vacation, and beaches, and with all the commercial and all the highlights under the bright sun, one looks forward to the warm and gentle fading evenings as well, being on your own, thinking sentimental and even melancholic thoughts about the beautiful and eventful days that change so much in everything…

The Smashing Pumpkins – Tonight, Tonight

Mogwai – Autorock

Thee More Shallows – 2am

The Cure – 10:15 at a Saturday night

Echo & the Bunnymen – Killing Moon

Thee More Shallows – A Night at Knight School

Bob Dylan – Don’t Think Twice

Jelly Roll Morton – The Crave
