On Sunday July 17th, Toronto Lomography Gallery Store was pleased to hold the classic Diana Dialogues at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. One attendee had so much fun, they wrote their own recap of the event!
The Lomography Gallery Store in Toronto, kicked-off its Fellini-inspired workshop on Sunday, July 16th 2011- an event not to be missed by any aspiring photographer, who has damaged their first roll of film. And there, at the famous TIFF Bell Lightbox, we bonded over some Diana F+ sky-blue cameras, which were kindly lent out by the store, along with free film and some treats (like the mini Diana F+ charm).
We learned about the camera’s 1960s origin; light exposure and the various lenses…and of course, the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography! Ending our enlightenment with the uber-inspiring Fellini exhibit, filled with tabloid scandals; the almost-kisses of La Dolce Vita, and even the director’s highly-romanticized Lomo stills.
This exhibit of course, reminded us why we love photography in the first place. So before going our separate ways, we took our own shots in a Toronto alley. Shots of abandoned toilets and even graffiti, which were almost as dramatic as black-and-white cinema :).
Feel free to share your photos from the workshops, or stories from your adventures!
