Cross-Processing and Dishwashing with Afga Precisa

AgfaPhoto CT Precisa 35mm is the most amazing film to cross process with. It gives stunning colors, and works just as well after being in the dishwasher!

It was about a month ago that I ordered my first 3 rolls of Agfa Precisa, and as soon as they came, I loaded one up in my LC-A+ *.

Because it was my first roll I thought I would test out how it reacted in different conditions, I shot in the brightest of sunlight, and also in the afternoon shade. These are some photos from taken in the bright sun. :)

Precisa, when cross-processed, is definitely a film that loves the sun.

It does not react so well in the shade…

Slightly less success without the sun.

If you want to shoot in the shade or any time without good lighting and without a flash, I would recommend shooting at a lower ASA to let more light in. Unfortunately for you LC-A+ users, it is 100 ISO film and you can’t really go any lower, but with a little crafty covering of some of the light meter, you can force the camera to keep the shutter open slightly longer.

I also put a roll of this film through the dishwasher after seeing Dr. Lab Experiment One: Do the Dishwasher.
It works fantastically. You can even experiment with shooting a roll, sticking it in the dishwasher, and then shooting it again after you have dried it. You get two layers of different colors. :)

Precisa is definitely a film worth having a go with, it cross processes beautifully, and even works well in the dishwasher.

So, what are you waiting for? Go shoot a roll! :)

Black and White Photography: The Forms of the World

Colors may be amped to look unreal, like nothing of this world. Shots may be doubled, cross-processed, post-processed, mixed up into collages. The possibilities are infinite, yet some photographers still prefer black and white. Even in 2016, it is an ode to classic values of precision and balance. Light and shadow must be one pleasing dance. And just like in a well-choreographed piece, forms are obvious or playing coy. It all depends on how you're looking.

    A Color Remix

It's human nature to be restless and imaginative. The real may be interpreted as what one sees or how one sees something. For the daydreamer, a scene from nature transforms into a canvas. Suddenly a field makes room for chemical coloring, all those anachronistic streaks that somehow look right. Or else, those beautiful colors amplified or subdued to their most pictorial shades. All in the world of trial-and-process film photography.

In this tipster I’m going to teach you how to create the bloodiest homemade redscale film I've ever come across.
