Agfa CT Precisa: My New Favorite!

13

Blue and green have always been my two favorite colors, so it’s no wonder that this beauty caught my attention with it’s vibrant, other-worldly colors!

I was in London at the Lomography store when I decided that I wanted to try this Agfa CT Precisa. I’d seen photos on Lomography and it made my mouth water to see the bright blues and greens calling to me.

So I bought it, even though it was a bit more expensive than the film that I usually buy. I was excited to try this film, but yet, I wanted to save it for the perfect day!

It wasn’t until two months later that I decided to load it into my Canon EOS Elan II and take it with me to a surf spot with one of my best friend’s Summer. The conditions were perfect: sunny blue skies, crashing waves, beautiful people and just enough clouds to spruce up the sky. Being that this was the first time I’d ever been to this place, it was so beautiful that I went a bit crazy taking pictures of all the things I saw! I’d had a perfect day!

I dropped off my film and marked it “XPRO” of course, couldn’t forget that bit! When I came back to pick my photos up from the lab, I had that giddy feeling of excitement when you wait for a roll that you just know is going to be good. And I was TOTALLY blown away; the photos depicted the perfect summery feel to it and the extreme blue in the sky and shine in the water just captured how amazing that day was!

But onto the facts of the Agfa CT Precisa 100 (35mm); I can say with assurance that it is the absolute perfect outdoor film in outdoor weather. (Personally I’ve never used it indoors but I’ve seen some gorgeous indoor ones too. When you get down to it, this film won’t disappoint you!) It is slide film (thus, more expensive) and can be cross processed. Cross processing this film will give you gorgeous blues and greens!

The quality of xpro, of course is not realistic. If it was, what would be the point? Almost all of the photos I had ended up blue and green:

It also drastically changes skin tone with different shades of green:

Silhouettes against the sun are great because it gives the perfect shadows and lighting:

With 100 ISO, it’s common for some photos to be underexposed. But that’s not always a bad thing. The mood that this film gives with low lighting can tell a story:

And of course we can’t forget about the multiple exposures, which are also stunning!

All in all, this film gives more than you would expect it to. So expect great things, expect the unexpected :)

You can see the whole album here!

    omg, i am totally in love with this film!
    since always i have huge fascination for underexposed pictures! And the combination of these colours with underexposed frame makes the perfect shot.
    Great photos (;
