Dumplings Legend at London Chinatown

Chinatown is full of restaurants with the waiters standing outside to entice you in, but which one do you choose? Decisions, decisions, decisions…

China has many dishes with dim sum being one of them. So what is dim sum? Well they are small individual portions of food, served in a small steamer baskets or on small plates. Going for dim sum is usually known in Cantonese as going to “drink tea” (yum cha). If you are lucky to go to Hong Kong or China to have dim sum, you would find servers pushing carts around with dim sum, very traditional!

So the restaurant we chose was Dumplings Legend, which is a relatively new open place. On the table they leave you a list of all the food that is available to order and you would mark what you would like to have. Once completed, you hand in the slip to the waiter and they go to process the order. Easy! Well that is if you can read Chinese! However, help is at hand with their menu, which also have English translations!

What’s different with Dumplings Legend is that they have a huge variety of dumplings to choose from not many restaurants in Chinatown offer that variety.

Dumplings, known as Jiao zi, are made of ingredients wrapped in a translucent rice flour or wheat starch skin. The dumplings can contain pork, shrimps, cabbage, and many more ingredients!

So when you want to have some food and happen to be in Chinatown, give Dumplings Legend a go and if you have had too much to eat like I did, Barclays Bikes is just close by!
