Paris Carousels

It might make me a complete tourist, but I love visiting the carousels in some of Paris’ parks.

There’s one in particular that I keep going back to (it helps that it’s right next to the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of my favorite museums). I found it accidentally during my first trip to Paris while wandering around completely lost. It’s right next to the Gare Montparnasse, so there were plenty of other confused looking travelers with gigantic suitcases.

I have no idea why, but carousels are one of my favorite things to photograph – especially with lomo cameras. They’re not very interesting from afar, but I love the details when you look at them closely. Those details and the somewhat creepy music they play will always remind me of my first trip to Paris.
