Mt. Adams: Getting Funky in Cincinnati

2008-12-31 2

Mt. Adams, a neighborhood in the middle of Eden Park in Cincinnati, is both a historic part of Cincinnati’s heritage, and a really cool place where artistic minds can let loose pretty much every day of the year. And many have already let loose on the architecture, gardens, bars, and cafes around the neighborhood.

What you’ll find in Mt. Adams is a fantastic mix of new and old. The more traditional style of many of the older Cincinnati neighborhoods with a little bit of flamboyant disregard for conservatism thrown in. Comical relief sculptures adorn the walls of a restaurant while just down the street and old-world fountain in the shape of a monk cools the air.

Its a perfect location for any casual lomo outing. Within walking distance, you’ll find the Krohn Conservatory, Mirror Lake, and Cincinnati Art Museum. (Although a trip up to the Museum from Mt. Adams is quite a hike, sometimes!)
