Visiting India’s smallest (and most fun!) state with my ActionSampler. Gotta love the sunny and sandy beaches of Goa!
Goa is India’s smallest state. While the rest of India was ruled by the British, Goa was ruled by the Portuguese. So unlike the rest of India, Goa is full of Catholics with a lot of white-washed churches. It’s a coastal state, so it’s also famous for seafood and beautiful beaches. It was a haven for hippies in the 60s and 70s. It also has rich flora and fauna, owing to its location on the Western Ghats range, which is classified as a biodiversity hot spot.
It’s an extremely famous party destination, known for raves on the beach and cheap booze (due to the low alcohol taxes and abundances of home distilleries).
But for me Goa is very different. It is my ‘native place’. All four of my grandparents are from there, so our family visits every year. I have a lot of cousins in Goa and a home close to one of the most famous beaches in South Goa. So when I visit Goa, I get a little of both, culture and fun. Here are some shots of Goa with my ActionSampler.
I hope you liked my photos of Goa. I have another article on Goa coming up soon!
