Its Saturday, the 18th of June – it’s Brighton Rocks! The forecast for the day was HEAVY rain showers BUT its dry, its sunny and there isn’t a cloud in the sky. Poor Londoners were drenched soaked to the bone but for us lucky Lomographers, Brighton was glorious.
We all met in store bright and early (9am!)…we grabbed our LC-A+’s and we stocked up on loads of film and we headed together over to London Victoria for our train to the souths favourite seaside town.
Theres nothing like a trip to the seaside to refresh our urban souls – and that is exactly what we did! Refreshing doesn’t even come close to what we felt being blasted by the ocean air on the seafront…The seagulls were even struggling in the wind (all apart from the one that tried to steal the sandwich straight out of my mouth!) but a strong sea breeze didn’t stop us from exploring the famous Brighton pier…
The warming smell of fish and chips, the flashing lights of the arcades and the screams and cries of all those on the rides made it truly a day to remember, especially as it’s our first ever LomoTrip our of London!
The Royal Pavilion stood in all its glory standing against a clear blue sky was breathtaking…
Bands played throughout the park, family fun all around and even a cheeky game of tug of war for us (which we won by the way)!
Everyone fell in love with more than the LCA today (not surprising at all!) – the different places that Brighton has to offer makes a great day for endless shooting of postcard perfect pictures. All the elements of the classic British seaside: a stick of rock, a carousel, deckchairs, the pier all going hand in hand with the urban elements of the city – graffiti walls, cobbled streets and the picturesque north laines. Don’t forget Brightons famous Lomographer, who we bumped into on the pier, LomoKev!
Oh, how we all love to be beside the seaside! If you missed out on this this time, don’t worry as there is another chance to visit picturesque Brighton…
