I bet all Lomographers must have self portraits! A reflective surface such as a mirror is a perfect place to take your self-portrait if you don’t want to ask your friends to snap your photos.
As eva_eva mentioned in her article Self-Portraits: Mirrors, Reflections, and Everywhere! about her craziness to take her portraits through the reflective surface, I do feel the same way too!
Remember the bedtime story your mom told you before you going to bed, “The Dog and its Reflection”? Maybe some of us know and some may not. (You can google it!) I think, before the mirrors were invented, people use water to check their appearance!
Sometimes, water can make your photo become a perfect double exposure!
And the water can also change the point of view. In fact, it can make your ordinary photo turn into someting cool!
And if you like street photography, you can snap someone’s picture without he/she realizing that you’re actually snapping his/her photos!
The step is easy as your 5 year old brothers or sisters can do this!
1) Find the place where a lot of water is on the street (you can do this after the rain).
2) Ready your camera. Make sure your camera is loaded with film.
3) Check the distance of your camera to avoid blurry images.
4) Don’t think, just shoot!
