Diana+ 35mm Back

Even though we, Diana’s Lovers, find its square format irresistible, sometimes it’s reasonable to have more than 12 or 16 frames and get the cute sprockets. With the Diana 35mm Back, you can get the fantasy that characterizes this camera in different formats and save some capital at the same time.

Why did I choose it? Because I wanted to turn my Diana F+ in a more versatile camera but mainly because of the sprocket holes! Still, even if I adore medium format it becomes expensive and annoying to thinking and rethinking how to spend it because it finishes in a blink of an eye, 16 frames maximum.

Using the Diana+ 35mm Back you’re allowing the film to be entirely burned. This way you can get the funny sprockets that any lomographer has in their own collection. The sprockets can give an interesting atmosphere to your sometimes wishy-washy scene, a dramatic input or a crude feeling to a simple photo. These holes are one of the main languages of all the experimental photography and one of the main doors to lomography.

I think this is the main reason why everyone wants this accessory, but besides that some money can be saved. When you’re using 35mm film you get more exposures and the film is much cheaper as well. Besides that you have an enormous variety of film, compared with 120mm film.

And if you are one of those that don’t like the sprockets, or you just got tired of it, you can choose between the plastic frames that come with the package. They’re 4 different ones to decide for: the panoramic, the landscape, the panoramic with sprockets and the square with sprockets.

You just need to replace the usual back for the 35mm Back. Simple as that! Well, taking off some parts, but it’s quite easy. To replace the film, the open mode is also different, it’s on the side not in the bottom, and there are two exposure counters on the top.

This way your beloved Diana F+ is converted into a multi-format camera!
