Kodak High Definition (35mm, 400 iso) user-review

Cross processing has fast become an addiction of mine, but once in a while I think it’s good to step back and make sure I don’t underestimate nature’s ordinary colors by using some good ole’ color print film.

In my attempt to spice up the C-41 experience, I purchased some Kodak High Definition 400 speed film off on EBay for next to nothing.

This film captured the colors of the natural world in their most extraordinary form. It is vivid, bright, and capable of expressing all of those detailed colors that I love so much in this season. The antique colors and earthy tones that I saw walking around downtown Jacksonville were beautifully remembered by this film.

I was especially pleased at how nicely this film captured sun flare, causing the green grass and tennis courts at a local park to glow with excitement. This film also gave me some angelic photos of my cat, Buii.

This is a great all around film that seems fairly easy to get a hold of, and is a wonderful option for those who like color but aren’t in a location or a situation where they can cross process easily or often. It’s also a good film to keep those of us xpro addicts grounded.
