Vintage Vogue: Classic Fashion Photography


Aside from jazz pizzazz and Hollywood glamour, photography has also been synonymous to another glittering world—fashion!

Fashion photography has been around since the turn of the 20th century, and the genre has been producing countless classic photos that still define glamour and style. The first collection of fashion photos were published in 1856, featuring Virginia Oldoini, Countess of Castiglione in her official court attire—making her the very first fashion model.

Since then, film has been used to depict what is chic, stylish, and trendy. Where else can we see the best of fashion shots in film, but in the covers and pages of vintage Vogue, the iconic trend bible! Vogue itself has a long history as one of the leaders and pioneers of fashion publications since the 1920’s. Its pages and covers of lovely ladies in classic fashion are some of the most sought after by collectors, historians, and vintage fans!
