Quintessentially English

I randomly stumbled upon the Thriplow Village Daffodil Weekend last month and thought it’s worthy of a Locations article.

If it’s a typical English fete you’re after then the Thriplow Village Daffodil Weekend is just the thing for you. For one weekend in March each year, the whole village opens its arms (and gardens, roads, cricket grounds and barns) to visitors interested in buying arts & crafts and of course, daffodils.

Just 7 miles outside of Cambridge, Thriplow is a quaint village and it’s fete offers something for everybody, including:
Heavy horses giving dray rides
Children’s entertainment
May pole dancing
Sheep dogs working
Working smithy
Live birds of prey
Steam traction engine

There are also food stalls, arts & crafts and clothes stalls:

And of course, a country fete isn’t complete without some Morris dancers!

So although it’s been and gone for this year, its worth noting in the diary for next year. :)
