Tori Amos Inspiration Competition - Amsterdam

2011-07-05 1

Turn up the red lights! The Netherlands’ most outstanding city is of course Amsterdam! Show us your shots inspired by Amsterdam’s amazing sights!

Lush with blossoming landscapes and sparkling waters, Amsterdam is home to the sexy red-light district, large department stores such as De Bijenkorf (as well as small specialty shops), Kleinkunst (a multi-faceted cabaret) and Anne Frank’s house/now museum on Prinsengracht canal. Fashion designers Viktor & Rolf and G Star are based out of this liberal city, and Amsterdam is also famous for being a centre of bicycle culture. The Museumplein (Museum Square) provides an abundance of culture, history and visual arts. Cafes present yummy Dutch cheeses, cookies, pancakes and fries (along with other popular treats available for inhaling). Leidseplein and the Rembrandtplein hold some of the most popular and diverse nightlife, while the various canals create an atmosphere of tranquility. This peaceful and stimulating European city offers many exciting opportunities for photographic ventures!

We want you to submit your finest analogue photographs that you believe encapsulate Amsterdam’s glory. Remember: The images only have to be inspired by the city. They do not have to be taken within the city.
