Once a year over the beginning of the May bank holiday, the whole of Leeds comes alive for 3 days with various musicians and events in a variety of venues.
Last year was the first time I had ever heard of this musical extravaganza, despite having lived in Leeds for almost 7years. It is a 2- or 3-day music festival, which takes place in various venues all over the city. You can buy a wristband for around £15 and it lets you in to all the different places for the duration of the festival.
I was really impressed at some of the new local music happening in Leeds, such as the amazing folk singer Fran Rogers, hip band Middleman and the largest musical group ever, Milk White White Teeth. If it wasn’t for this festival showcasing such excellent new music, they may never get a chance to play such huge audiences in great venues.
If you like to discover great artists at reasonable prices then I highly recommend this event. More information can be found at http://www.liveatleeds.com/
