Just 2 days before the opening of the Times Square Lomography Exhibition in Causeway Bay Hong Kong, I couldn’t wait and went today for a sneak peek and hung out a bit with the crew who has been working incredibly hard to make all this happen…
Although the set was still being finalized and we could still see unfinished bits here and there, it was surreal seeing this giant sea of LomoWall rolling out in the Times Square Hong Kong and the gigantic Fisheye No.2, Diana F+, Sprocket Rocket and Lubitel 166+ erecting from the ground. This was a dreamlike experience, and certainly the most Lomographic one! The Times Square Lomography Hong Kong exhibition is the biggest Lomographic event yet arriving at Hong Kong, opening in just 36 hours (as of this article being written)! Here is a sneak peak, ready?
A recent phenomenon called Analogue Gigantism can also be observed at the exhibition. The Lomographic cameras on location grew multiple times larger than the original size. And unlike island gigantism or deep sea gigantism, this phenomenon can often be found only in the most urbanized and populated areas, as seen below.
The exhibition will be open on Monday 11th April 12:45pm. Besidse the giant LomoWall and cameras, there will also be a popup store, lucky-draw, Art Juror, trampolines, and much more! If you happen to be in Hong Kong, come visit because it’s going to be the ultimate, once in a life time Lomographic experience. See you there!
