Florida is a well-known vacation destination for those in search of the sun’s sunny warm rays. However, not all beaches in Florida are created equally. If you find yourself in the central part of the state and on the west side, allow me to point you to one of my favourite beaches to soak up the sun.
Siesta Key, when I say these two words your mind should already be thinking: sunshine, soft white sands, gorgeous coastline, cool gulf waters and more SUNSHINE. Before I go further with my promotion of this sunny paradise I should provide a disclaimer. I’ve not been to all beaches in Florida, but I’ve seen some of the more popular from Miami to Panama City Beach, and I can say that Siesta Key is my favourite.
For starters the beach is clean, never super-packed, but also never totally empty. If you’re seeking some sun fun with your girl pals you can have it. If you’re looking to tan with your man – go for it! Want to bring the babes and the whole fam? Why not? This beach is perfect for all ages to come and soak it all in. The crowds are usually mixed, so if you’re single and hoping for some spring break type of fun – you might be able to find that as well. (Note: I’m not 100% sure about that one.)
If you’re a lady wanting to tan all those forbidden places the sunlight normally doesn’t see, you’ll need to use discretion. This isn’t a topless beach like some of those found in Miami or elsewhere. But don’t let that news damper your desire to warm it up here.
Whether you feel like taking on friends in a game of volleyball or having a BBQ a short distance away from the water, you are welcome to do both. In either scenarios you’ll be receiving all that good sun lovin’ from the radiant blue skies above.
On a more personal note I’ve been to this beach so many times it is hard to keep count. One of the most memorable visits was being with friends who were visiting from New Orleans and they totally loved Siesta Key.
Then again, it’s pretty hard not to.
