If you need a little break from a busy day or you’re discovering the Camden Market and just want to sit back and reflect what you’ve seen so far, treat yourself and go to Yumchaa. A charming place with a counter filled with tasty looking treats and a fantastic range of yummy tea, waiting for you to try and enjoy.
The Yumchaa Tea Shop is located right at the heart of Camden Lock Market on the upper level with a lovely balcony. Well, Camden Lock is not what comes to mind when you think of a place to relax as it is normally quite packed with tourists. But there is actually the perfect hideout where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the market for a while, enjoy some great tea, yummy wholesome cakes, tasty bagels and sandwiches and a great view over the canal and the West Yard Market stalls. The mix and match of wooden furniture and the big windows add to the cosy feeling of this place. They have a huge range of black, green, red and white teas and blends and serves only quality loose-leaf tea – tea bags are strictly banned! Every time my friends and I are in the area, we’re trying to get a table on the balcony, enjoying some sunshine, having tea and watch the world go by for a while. Perfect. A real haven for tea lovers.
