The most iconic NW location in London, St John’s wood is where everyone should go. Two minutes away from the underground station (just follow Grove end road) or the foxes.
Abbey Road Studios is the most famous recording studio in the world ( 3 Abbey Road, St John’s Wood ).
Abbey Road Studios is the place of pilgrimage for Beatles fans. The Beatles recorded almost all of their albums and singles there until 1970. Their 1969 album was named Abbey Road because the recording studio was located on that street, the recording studio was named Abbey Road only after the Beatles record in 1970.
It’s also where one of the most famous pictures in the world was taken. Iain Macmillan took the picture for the album cover outside Abbey Studios making a pedestrian zebra crossing one of the most visited tourist attractions in London.
Also, all three film scores for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (performed by the London Symphony Orchestra) were also recorded at Abbey Road Studios as well as every Star Wars soundtrack (until 2005).
