Fuji slide films are best known to produce either a green or a red tone when cross-processed. In that sense, Fuji Provia 400F is quite an exception. It is blue!

I bought a few expired rolls of this gem together with some Provia 100F. As I used to get nice green pictures from Provia 100F, I assumed that I would get the same results from Provia 400F. So you can imagine how amazed I was when I got all these blue photos from my lab.

You will think, “Ah, for blues, we already have Agfa CT Precisa, Lomo Xpro film and the various Kodak slide films.” I’d like to say, the blue of Fuji Provia 400F is different from all other slide films though. It’s lighter and brighter.

Plus, the higher ISO of the film not only changes the colour shift, but makes it an ideal choice for cameras with limited choices for aperture and shutter speed, like Supersampler, Fisheye, Holga, Horizon Kompakt and much more.

Cool shots! I just tried a roll of 120 and it was just too grainy and green for me… I'll try again! :)

Intriguing! Now I know why Provia 400F sells very well on eBay—these blues :-)
