Are you ready to go Back to the Future? Take a ride with Marty McFly as you go back in time. Make sure you have your Lomo cameras with you before you go though!
Great Scott! This month’s LomoMission entails rummaging through old photos and finding matching outfits. Inspired by Irina Werning's amazing art project Back to the Future we have come up with our latest LomoMission! Of course we want everything analogue so please no digital shots! If you’re ready to submit your shots, just make a diptych using Photoshop, GIMP, or other programs. For the funniest and most inventive photo, the prize of a Sprocket Rocket awaits while Piggies go to the runners-up! So get your creative juices flowing and take a trip down memory lane!
Just to be clear, what we are looking for in this mission is that you find an old picture and recreate it as well as possible. Try to take the picture in the same place, with the same subjects and even the same outfits. Once you have taken the picture, make a diptych and post ONE image of both the old picture and the modern recreation. If you are still confused, take a look at Irina Werning's amazing art project Back to the Future. That should give you a sense of what we are looking for.
Prize(s): 1 winner of a Sprocket Rocket. The winner will also receive a special award badge straight to their LomoHomes
Film/Camera Type: Any analogue photo not digitally enhanced or manipulated
Upload Limit: 5 photos
Minimum Photo Dimensions: Submissions must be at least 768px in either width or height.
Meta data must be completed (camera, film, location & 3 tags)
By submitting your photos to this rumble, you allow Lomography.com to use your submitted photos for promotional purposes.
Here’s what happens before we interview a photographer. We gush about the work though we have yet to find out the cameras and processes behind the brilliant composition or the light architecture. And even when they haven’t used a Lomo camera, we feature them anyway. But every once in a while comes a pro who uses one of our premium lenses at work and our fun cameras off-duty. This makes us mighty glad, more so when their images are good and worth sharing. We count cinematographer Michal Dabal's work among them.
With an expanded field of view and its ability to produce high quality images and capture minute detail, medium format photography has become the top choice of many photographers. Lomography is working hard to make sure that it keeps going with the continued production of medium format film and cameras. The current issue of German magazine FOTO HITS focuses on medium format photography. And with this rumble, we want to prove why medium format photography is king. Take your Diana F+, Holga 120, Lubitel 166+ or the new Lomo LC-A 120 and show us your best square shots!

There are many possible reasons for taking pictures. It could be to document an event, to capture breathtaking scenery, to preserve a fond memory, or simply, to have a snapshot of someone close to your heart. Whatever the reason, there's almost always a story behind a picture, no matter how significant or trivial it may be. And for lomographers, nothing beats the feeling of having that story unfold in your hand, in the form of a print. If you want a quick keepsake from that treasured moment or a snapshot of that special someone though, you can have it instantly, through Lomo'Instant Stories!
