Dolly Dare – a destination for fashion escapism. DOLLY DARE – DARE TO DREAM; DOLLY DARE – DARE TO BE DIFFERENT; DOLLY DARE – DARE TO BE DESIRED…If you want to try a true London look with the sense of both futurism and vintage, then Dolly Dare is your ultimate destination!
Wildly pretty, beautifully romantic, softly seductive but always with a slice of edge. Their clothes are made in London, not overseas! And they are producing only a maximum of 20 garments in each look, so the chances of you bumping into someone wearing the same thing is quite limited. Not like Primark, for example.
The new 2011 collection is all about “sparkletastic” gold sequin dresses in fabulous 50s shapes and ethereal lurex knits in decadent 20s shapes mixed with the classic black lace. They also stock a range of shoes including brands such as Iron Fist, and a wide range of jewelry and hair pieces from brands such as Uncommonly Beautiful and Now Voyager. There’s also knitwear with brands such as Siren. Tights and gloves, as well as our trademark over-the-knee socks can also be found here.
The owners Laura Thomas and Emma Cascarina both have a background in theatre costumes which is obvious when you walk into the shop. They change window displays so often, that you can Lomograph them tens of times, but all the pictures will still look different. Where do they get those flexible mannequins with the blond curly hair I wonder?
